Lights up on International Men’s Day 2023

With two weeks to go before International Men’s Day on 19 November, groups across Australia are preparing to celebrate in a multitude of ways.

The calendar is filling up with an assortment of activities and events, with many more organisations expected to finalise their plans over the next fortnight.

Naturally, food is a popular choice for bringing supporters together.

Men’s Resources Tasmania invites “dads, sons, brothers, blokes, fellas, dudes, husbands, partners and grand-dads” to take part in their annual fundraiser breakfast with several guest speakers taking the podium, including Dean Yates, author of Line in the Sand, and Lifeline Tasmania superstar, Ben Fisher.

Also in Tasmania, the Penguin Lions Club is hosting a breakfast along the theme, ‘Men Leading by Example’ with guest speakers Greg Smith (The Men’s Shed) and comedian Ned Townsend.

Over at the Novotel Wollongong, Healthier Illawarra Men are hosting their second International Men’s Day event, to which they have invited Brett Connellan, surfer, marathon runner, Moloka'i 2 O'ahu open water board paddler and shark attack survivor.

Also, in the Wollongong Mall on 17 November, Talk2mebro and Barstool Brothers are offering free snags at a special IMD sausage sizzle starting at 9am.

In the West, the team from Men’s Talk AU have put together a morning of men-friendly maintenance starting with a wellness session on the beach, before breakfast and an inspiring presentation from The Empowering Project Team. Tickets are $25pp.
