Champion conscious leadership. Model respect and empathy. Shape the next generation of public servants.
Following the success of our first Work with Purpose live podcast for International Men’s Day on men’s mental health, we’re bringing the format back — this time turning the focus to leadership, policy, and the evolving role of men in the public sector.
This conversation will explore how leaders can champion conscious, empathic leadership to foster inclusive and respectful workplaces. By modelling positive behaviours and supporting healthy relationships at work, senior men play a vital role in shaping future leaders — particularly younger men navigating their professional identities.
Consistent with the Theme of International Men’s Day – together, we’ll unpack the policies that enable men to contribute meaningfully to the workforce while also supporting their families — frameworks that encourage shared caregiving and a more flexible, equal workforce. From historical shifts to current approaches and future possibilities, the panel will examine how gender-inclusive policy continues to evolve in the Australian Public Service.
Featuring leaders speaking from their lived experience and evidence based policy expertise, this live episode will weave together the lived experiences of male (and male-presenting) leaders, personal role models, and gendered perspectives on empathy, care, and interconnectedness in leadership. The discussion will be recorded and later released as a Work with Purpose podcast episode.
After the recording, join us for an extended networking session at the Rex’s Swan & King.
