To help celebrate International Men's Day we are hosting an Open Day in our shed on November 19 from around 10.00am through 4.00pm. This event will be promoted by all 50+ registered shed members and will be open to all men and their families in the Timber's Edge (Dawesville) community (1-200 dwellings).
Our community demographic includes people with ages ranging from 30+ to 90, many of whom we already support with a variety of activities.
Samples of other work ranging from Christmas trees (70+ fabricated this year based on up cycled pallets), possum boxes (a recent order from our local wildlife centre), garden mirrors, and a weatherproof AED enclosure will be on show, in addition to a range of fabricated metalwork samples.
We will offer snacks and/or lunch to all visitors by way of a BBQ including meat, salads and a vegetarian option. Light beverages will also be served.
Following on from this day, at our regular Monday gathering at 10.00am on 21 November we will be hosting a visit from riders from Motorcycle Network - WA who will speak with our group about men's health, and related issues.
