Giving a talk on International Men’s Day?

The International Men’s Day 2024 theme in Australia is Men’s Health Champions.

Giving a Know Your Man Facts Talk is a great way to mark the occasion. This can be done by one person or shared between interested employees and management.

The new Know Your Man Facts website has all available presentations with speaker notes and ideas for involving participants. They can also be accessed on the International Men’s Day website, or the Australian Men’s Health Form website, authors of the material.

Popular topics include:

Men’s Heart Health: a presentation on the No.1 killer of men in Australia, heart disease.

Men’s Mental Health: a presentation on mental health disorders – experienced by 1 in 2 men in their lifetime – and what can be done to support yourself and other blokes going through a rough patch.

Exercise + Men’s Health: a motivational talk on the importance of being active, with ideas to share with the whole family.

Men’s Health Checks: a presentation that helps men understand their options and encourages them to take action.

All of these presentations come with ten social media graphics that illustrate key points. Approximately 30 slides per presentation can also be tailored to suit time.

By giving a talk, you are a Men’s Health Champion! Congratulations, you are helping men understand how they can improve their health and also help their mates.

The sub-themes for International Men’s Day 2024 are:

  • Build healthy communities
  • Look out for your mates
  • Take action, stay healthy
  • Creating a healthier future

Know You Man Facts toolkits reflect these sub-themes, so giving a talk is a great way to hold an event and stimulate discussion. They can, of course, also be done via an online platform like Zoom.
