International Men’s Day encourages men to teach the boys in their lives the values, character, and responsibilities of being a man.
Mahatma Gandhi said, “We must become the change we seek.”
It is only when we all, both men and women, lead by example that we will create a fair and safe society that allows everyone the opportunity to prosper.
It isn’t every day that we take part in a conversation about manhood, masculinity and men’s issues that is inclusive of a wide range of viewpoints and celebrates men and boys in all their diversity.
International Men’s Day is celebrated on 19 November every year and is marked in around 80 countries worldwide.
International Men’s Day in Australia is a great opportunity for us to:
- Highlight some of the social issues that men and boys face
- Make a difference for the men and boys in your community
- Celebrate men and boys in all their diversity
- Have some serious fun
