Throughout his career as a sportsman and West Coast Eagles player Glen Jakovich has been a team player, a mentor, a role model, and most importantly, a dad.
To celebrate International Men's Day, Glen will share his experiences in a Mandurah talk hosted by 4Dads and addressing the 2020 theme, 'leading by example'.
Community development officer Andre Cannavo said the event was a great opportunity to hear from one of Australia's leading sportsmen, and learn about how he manages pressures and focuses on being the best dad he can be.
"Glen's experiences as a sportsman and team member have enabled him to guide those who admire and follow in his footsteps, and he will be talking about his experiences as a Dad and mentoring men."
Mr Cannavo said in Mandurah, men can often be socially isolated from other men, and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic many have exacerbated already existing challenges and stressors in relationships.
"For many men, stresses can include job losses, wage stagnation and relationship and family difficulties.
"We encourage everyone who may feel like they are struggling to seek support, or reach out for help if the anxiety or stress is getting on top of you."
