In the run up to International Men's Day (IMD) and throughout November we are highlighting 100+ groups around Australia doing great work to support men and boys. The theme for IMD 2025 in Australia is Supporting Men and Boys

Grab Life By the Balls is a men's mental health charity working to improve  the quality of mateship between men from all walks of life through meaningful connections. The group runs easy-to-access, social meet-ups for men in locations like coffee shops and public BBQs. Originally founded on the Sunshine Coast, Grab Life By The Balls now has volunteers and meet-ups in over 20 locations across Australia.

Healthier Illawarra Men is focused on empowering local men to make positive choices for their physical and mental health, and to provide them with the resources and support necessary to lead healthier lives.They host an annual fundraising event to coincide with International Men's Day each year with the funds raised reinvested in local men's health initiatives throughout the Illawarra region.

Heart-Led Support is a male-focused NDIS support provider based in Brisbane. Its mission is to bring more confident, compassionate, and masculine men into disability support, helping those young and old within the NDIS who are living with psychosocial disabilities. Their goal is to help clients develop more independence, freedom and purpose with the hope of a motivated support worker who also acts as a mentor and role model.

It's A Blokes Thing Foundation is a Toowoomba-based initiative dedicated to prostate cancer nursing programs, education, and research funding. It raises money, supports the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, funds prostate cancer nurses in Queensland and the NT and delivers awareness and education around prostate health, with a focus on rural and regional communities. 

Mankind Project Australia(MKP) is an international men's program dating back to the 1980s. It came to Australia in 2000 and is now run in over 20 countries worldwide. MKP runs its flagship men's retreat, The New Warrior Training Adventure, at different locations around Australia as part of its mission to build better men, stronger families and safer communities. MKP has regional communities based in 10 locations and runs more than 40 regular men's circles. 

Marcus Mission  is a social support program that assists men who are navigating life’s challenges. Its aim is to go ‘upstream’ and help men to develop their skills and resilience before their life spirals. The Marcus Mission program is all about men supporting men in South East Queensland and has helped over 1250 men in the past seven years. 

MATES is an industry-led, evidence-based suicide prevention and mental health program that delivers on-site support, training, and a help-offering culture across male-dominated industries. Originally focused on the construction sector in Queensland, MATES now operates across Australia and New Zealand and has expanded into other sectors including mining, energy and manufacturing.

Mates That Matter is a  social group in Sydney for men with hidden disabilities, working to tackle social isolation by being the tribe for men who have struggled to find theirs. The group is NDIS-friendly community and places a strong focus on building social connect and lasting friendships through a diverse program of group social programs from bush walks to axe throwing. 

Men of Business(MOB) Academy is a Senior Secondary School that focuses on empowering young men with the skills, knowledge and confidence to be happy, healthy and successful in life after school and personally develop young men along the journey to manhood through role modelling and mentoring. MOB Academy currently caters for boys in Years 11 & 12 on the Gold Coast who are looking for alternative learning to mainstream schooling. MOB is expanding to cater for boys from Year 7 and up from 2027.

Men of Hope is a cost-free social group run by NDIS provider, Black Swan Health, in two locations across Perth, WA. Men of Hope is a a cost-free social group specifically designed for men to regularly connect with one another, engage in fun activities, and enjoy casual social meet-ups. The group prides itself in building a supportive and vibrant community under the motto "get in, get healthy and strong, get going".
